The only known duty that Wheatley has over the Enrichment Center is what he considered the least desirable job available - attending to the "smelly humans" in the Extended Relaxation Center. Wheatley states that at one time he almost got a job in the manufacturing department, but the foreman instead chose an "exact duplicate of himself" for the position. At some point however, he was separated from GLaDOS and moved throughout the facility to do different jobs. The song, sung by Ellen McClain (the voice of the main antagonist, GLaDOS), has become ingrained into video game pop culture, and earned the game awards from IGN and Official Xbox Magazine for Best End Credit Song and Best Original Song respectively.According to GLaDOS, Wheatley was originally designed by the Aperture technicians as an "Intelligence Dampening Sphere." His intended function was to render GLaDOS less dangerous by generating a constant stream of stupid ideas, thereby distracting her and hampering her decision-making process in hopes that she would remain somewhat docile. However, one major set piece found in the game’s soundtrack will always be its credits song, “Still Alive”. Portal’s music comes in stark contrast to that of its sequel while Portal 2 features more present, melodic, and electronic tracks, Portal’s music is much more subtle and ambient, to more blend into the environment rather than create major set pieces. Certain tracks from the game had previously been released on The Orange Box (Original Soundtrack), but the Bonus Disc is the first complete collection of the soundtrack to be officially released. While the main three volumes featured tracks from the two campaigns of Portal 2, the Bonus Disc features the soundtrack of the original Portal game. The Collector’s Edition, complete with the Bonus Disc, is also the version that was made available on iTunes, Spotify, and other streaming platforms. This edition was a physical release of the three volumes of the Portal 2 soundtrack, which had been released sporadically the previous year online. Portal 2: Songs to Test By (Bonus Disc) is the bonus disc in the Songs to Test By: Collector’s Edition.
